Arcanum strengthens ties with the Welsh defence supply chain

Arcanum attends the inaugural Wales Defence and Security Cluster (WDSC) meeting at the Welsh Government office in Cardiff.

In March, Arcanum’s Cullum Morgan Welch was invited to attend the first meeting of the Wales Defence and Security Cluster (WDSC) in the Welsh Government office in Cardiff.

The cluster is designed to bring together organisations of all sizes, including contractors, to strengthen Wales’s defence supply chain, develop new technologies and explore industry opportunities, through the creation of new, well-paid and high-skilled jobs, and ensure that Welsh companies develop their supply chains.

This launch event follows the announcement of a £50 million investment in regional defence growth through the newly signed Wales Defence Growth Deal Memorandum of Understanding.

We were thrilled to participate in the first meeting – not least because Arcanum is the only NCSC Assured Cyber Consultancy for Risk, Audit, Architecture and Resilience that is based in Wales – and contribute to discussions on strengthening the Welsh defence supply chain, as well as exploring future opportunities for collaboration. As one of four certification bodies for the newly created Defence Cyber Certification (DCC), attending this event underscores our dedication to working closely with defence supply chains across the UK and support best practice within the sector.

A key focus of the cluster, which was also attended by the Secretary of State for Wales, is to connect industry leaders with Wales’s eight universities and colleges, which conduct research in cyber security, artificial intelligence, and opto-electronics.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration within the WDSC and supporting the growth and security of the UK defence sector.
